Researchers on resilient, inclusive and sustainable cities are invited to apply for one of three fellowships.

Our Leicester Institute of Advanced Studies (LIAS) is delighted to announce that we have a call open for Rutherford Fellowships, based on the theme of ‘cities’, and focused on a set of specific countries and university partners.

We have three Fellowships to award. Each Fellowship will be three months in length, must ideally start in early November, and must end no later than 15 March 2019.

Leicester's Rutherford Fund Strategic Partner award seeks to:

  • Empower the next generation of researchers to become global leaders on the theme of Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Cities
  • Enhance the reach and impact of our international research through strategic research partnerships
  • Promote the role of research in higher education to address shared global challenges

In this round, our Rutherford Fellows must come from:

  • Kenya (most particularly the University of Nairobi),
  • Bangladesh (University of Dhaka), and
  • Colombia (Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana).

The LIAS Rutherford Fellowship scheme is funded by BEIS (scheme manager Universities UK International)
