Julie Coleman, currently the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Interim Head of the College of Arts, Humanities and Law, will take up the role of Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of the newly formed College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, with effect from 1 August 2015.

Professor Steve King, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Social Sciences and Julie are working together to ensure a smooth transition takes place over the next few weeks. Steve and Julie are also working closely with Geoff Green, Director of Planning, Policy and Change who is leading the work on the implementation of the new College.

Julie, who held the role of Head of the Department of English prior to taking up the College leadership role said: “The new College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities spans a broad range of disciplines all focusing, in different ways, on what it means to be human.

"Our new college culture will develop over the next few years as we begin to explore the key themes that link our research and teaching. Building on the work of the task and finish group on career enhancement, it’s particularly important to me that the college should be a positive working environment in which individuals and departments are encouraged to reach their full potential”.
