Percy Gee building update

You will have seen that work on the Percy Gee building is progressing and we wanted to give you an update.

We are very close to completing the main structure of the building and then will progress to the external cladding and glass. As well as a new food court, a brand new Informatics lab, Student Services and Students’ Union Support Centre, a flexible open space to replace Queens Hall, and loads more study space, the building will serve as a centrepiece for the Campus.

When we started this project we anticipated a completion date in Autumn 2019. This is now likely to be Spring 2020. Like any redevelopment of a working building, there have been challenges during the project and unexpected delays, but we are now well on the way to bringing you all a new and improved student building.

We’re giving you the chance to see a sneak peek of the work in progress following a site tour on Thursday 20 June. You can see the pics on the Campus Development pages on MyWorkspace.

Works that were due to be carried out on Wednesday 26 June 2019 have been postponed. The Food Market will be open as normal, and all areas of the building will also be accessible.
