Yammer group for your charity events

Running a race, holding a bake sale? Just post them in this group

Since we introduced Yammer back in the heady days of January 2016 we seen the platform go from strength to strength. We've seen 2000 active members in the past year, with the last 7 days seeing 500 people active on the site.

If you've used it, you'll know it's based on groups, so you can join groups based on your own areas of interest, and personalise your own feed. So if you want to know all about staff social events, health and wellbeing and social impact, you can choose to see only those. Or if you take your Yammering seriously as part of your working day you might follow the Insights from the Planning Team, ULT and EU and Brexit groups. The choice, as they say, is yours.

Yammer will become even more important when we launch our new staff workspace, which will replace the current staff homepage in the near future (more on that soon, but we're looking at the other side of Easter), as you are able to easily embed a feed from a Yammer group directly onto a page.

Long story short, there's a group for you to post charitable events and activities, so whether it's planning Children in Need or Comic Relief activity, running a marathon or holding a bake sale, this is the place. You don't need to ask anyone's permission, just get posting and we'll promote the group on a regular basis.

Just to note, if you're interesting in or want to fundraise on behalf of the University, then get in touch with our alumni team.

Happy Yammering!
