If you are thinking of consolidating or expanding your activities in China, we have good news.

Chinese students are our largest overseas group, and it is vital that we maintain the levels of student recruitment. In addition to the appointment of Charles Cao Quin as Deputy PVC China earlier this year we have now taken the first steps to establishing an office in China with an in-country Director of University of Leicester China Operations – Ms Hui Liu. Hui will be also be able to support the many exciting opportunities for research and enterprise in China.

Hui graduated from Manchester Business School in 2007 with an MSc in International Business and Management.  She has worked in international higher education for more than nine years, including one year in the UK.

On returning to China she first worked as a consultant and then as marketing manager for UKEC in Hangzhou. In 2009 Hui moved to the international joint venture university Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou where she initially worked as PA to the Vice-President. She subsequently worked for three years for the university’s International Business School Suzhou as School Manager. For the last year she has been Director of Business Development and Planning for the University.

Hui will initially be based in Chengdu, South West China, at the offices of the China-British Business Council whilst we evaluate the best method of establishing a more permanent presence in China.

Hui will be working with colleagues in the International Office with responsibility for engagement with China, as well as with the PVC International, providing key support for the implementation of existing and new initiatives and helping us to develop our China strategy.

Hui will be contactable on hui.liu@leicester.ac.uk, mobile number +86 155 9901 8284 and the office number in Chengdu is +86 28 8627 4527.
