We are pleased to announce the opportunity to apply for a new Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor role which is aimed at delivering a key part of our Strategic Plan.

Our Digital strategy states that we ‘will be digital by default in all the things that we do. Ensuring that appropriate use of technology enhances our learning and teaching, facilitates innovative research and improves efficiency in our management and administration activities’.

The new post has been created due to the need for significant strategic leadership and decision-making in the implementation of the strategy. This includes taking an academic lead role on the future of the Virtual Learning Environment and approaches to Distance and Blended Learning.

This new role is available to current members of academic staff (Grade 9 or above) and will report to the Provost. The post-holder will also have a very close working relationship with the PVC (Student Experience), the PVC (Research and Enterprise) and the Director of IT, as well as working closely with the PVC (International) and colleagues leading the development of our flexible and distance learning provision.

The role, which is for a period of two years in the first instance, will form part of the holder’s contribution as a member of academic staff and this will be negotiated with the holder and their head of department.

If you wish to discuss this opportunity further, please view the job summary form and role description. You can contact Nick Donnelly on in relation to the process of application or Professor Mark Peel on in relation to the role itself.

Applications close at midnight on the 21 July 2016.
