Exploring the need to look into science communication

From public engagement to widening participation in parliament or engagement with the ODA research agenda, the potential benefits of science communication are invaluable.

Yet for a research and teaching intensive academic community, time is of the essence and communicating the outcomes of research beyond the confines of the academic sphere is not always easy.

The NERC funder group, based on the success of the two previous events held in 2016 and 2017, has designed an event on science communication. The event is open to all staff and postgraduate students and aims to give insights on why and how to efficiently and effectively communicate the outcomes of your research.

Academics from both the university and external organisations will come together to discuss various aspects of science communication.

The event takes place on Friday 15 June from 9:30am-2pm in SR409 Garendon, Charles Wilson.

To book, and find out more information, including a draft agenda, please have a look at the event page.
