My Student Journey launches at the My Student Journey Fair, 11.00am-3.00pm on Wednesday 15 January, in the marquee on Centenary Square. You are very welcome to drop in to find out more about the project.

My Student Journey provides students with a framework of curricular and extra-curricular activities to complete throughout their degree. As well as enhancing their student experience through providing opportunities for skills enhancement, personal growth and professional development, it also proactively supports employability related institutional objectives, through encouraging students to complete a significant experience, such as a year abroad, placement, or internship. Each stage of the journey provides bespoke help, ensuring that students feel empowered, confident and supported.

The four stages of My Student Journey are:

  • Get started: Leicester Award completion
  • Get involved: Undertaking part-time work through Unitemps or volunteering via Make A Difference Weeks to gain new skills and experiences
  • Get experience: Leicester Award Gold completion, enabling access to our Get Connected professional mentoring programme and a suite of further networking and engagement opportunities, and professional experience including year in industry, year abroad and summer placement
  • Get graduate ready: Tailored finalist support, including workshops, work experience, and job and further study opportunities

Student feedback has shaped My Student Journey’s concept, name and design. Each stage is underpinned by comprehensive data collection evidencing and evaluating how we support students to achieve graduate level jobs or go into further study.

Further information can be found at the My Student Journey website. Alternatively, if you have any questions, please contact Rich Wilcock, Deputy Director, Student Life.
