We are hosting a forum next week for staff to learn more about the University's Massive Online Open Course Portfolio and are calling for proposals for new ones.

Call out for MOOC proposals

The Leicester Learning Institute, working closely with various academic departments and FutureLearn, has been successfully creating and delivering MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) since 2013. Due to the positive impact MOOCs have had in innovating teaching and learning, extending brand awareness, and disseminating research, we now want to plan in more courses over the next few years.

We would therefore like to invite proposals from anyone with an interest in this area, and in particular where your course would link to the University's strategic plan. To submit your proposal please complete this form.

To find out more about our MOOCs visit the LLI website or come along to the MOOC Forum to discuss your ideas.

MOOC Forum Thursday 17 November - all welcome

The MOOC Forum is an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the University's Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) portfolio
  • Discuss MOOCs' role within the institution and HE Sector
  • Inform current and future developments
  • Receive advice and guidance from experienced MOOC course teams on each stage of the design and development process

The inaugural forum will showcase highlights from our current MOOCs and those that are being developed. This will inform a debate on MOOCs': purpose, value, impact and how they can be used to enhance mainstream learning and teaching.

Leicester Learning Institute (LLI) staff involved in MOOC development will explain the course design process and governance to facilitate discussion on MOOCs' institutional strategic fit. The forum will conclude with an opportunity to receive advice and guidance from experienced MOOC course teams and LLI staff on your MOOC ideas and proposal submissions.

The forum will be held on Thursday 17 November from 2.30-4.30pm in room 0.02 at the LLI (103-105 Princess Road East).

Please let us know if you will be attending by filling in this short form.
