#LeicsTalk is a Students' Union, University and Community collaboration, created to provide a simple signposting service for students and staff, to ensure students get the help they need during their time here.

Their mission is to encourage students to feel comfortable speaking up about any issues they’re facing at an early stage, so they can get the help they need and prevent further issues.

#LeicsTalk brings together Union, University, Student-Led and Community groups and services which are available to help students, and whether they’re looking for academic advice, someone to chat to about their wellbeing, welfare guidance or a specific support group, there’s something for everyone.

You can familiarise yourself with these services on the LeicsTalk website. If a student can’t find the right service, they can email leicstalk@le.ac.uk and an adviser will point them in the right direction. #LeicsTalk have a team of friendly staff ready to speak to students, so if you know anyone who might need their help, please point them their way.

#LeicsTalk also run and take part in events throughout the year, having recently had a presence during Volunteering and Well-fair, and at the Oadby Halls’ Get Involved event. For more information about what they have coming up, and for other useful information, keep an eye on their social media. Find them on Facebook by searching LeicsTalk, and @leicstalk on Twitter.

If you have any questions about what #LeicsTalk do, or would like any #LeicsTalk flyers and/or posters for your department, please get in touch at leicstalk@le.ac.uk.

Most importantly the message is about students actively seeking help for themselves and us as staff members ensuring we have the knowledge to either signpost them or guide them to leicstalk@le.ac.uk.
