Launch of OneDrive for staff

You may have noticed an extra option when saving files this morning.

We have rolled out OneDrive to all staff at the University. This is part of our Digital Strategy and aims to help staff to collaborate and share files.

OneDrive is similar to your Personal Z: drive, but allows you to access your files on mobile devices or anywhere you have access to a web browser. You can do away with your memory stick because as long as you have internet access, you’ll be able to access your files.

You can also avoid sending attachments in emails, but instead share documents with your colleagues and allow them to contribute to your work, helping you to keep track of amendments to shared files.

IT Services have put together a guidance page that shows you how to get started in OneDrive.

This is the first in a series of announcements about how we are hoping to achieve our digital campus, watch out for much more in the coming weeks and months.
