The Standardisation of Kurdish Language: Prospects and Challenges

The Kurdistan International Studies Unit (KISU) invites you to a fascinating lecture on the challenges of existing Kurdish dialects and the prospects for its systematic use.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday 31 January in the Rattray Lecture Theatre from 3-5pm.

The KISU is leading Leicester’s research in the field of Kurdish studies and was established in order to bridge the gap in institutionalised research in the field of Kurdish politics. KISU established their Public Lecture Series in October 2016 in order to enhance the understanding of Middle Eastern politics, with a special focus on the Kurds.

The lecture consists of a panel of speakers from the School of History, Politics and International Relations, and will also feature Guest Speaker Dr Farhad Shakely from Uppsala University in Sweden.

To register your place, please email KISU@leicester.ac.uk expressing your interest.
