Internal Communications improvements

If you’ve been away over the summer you may have noticed some changes to some of our communications, especially over email.

We are committed to improving our communications to you, as we continue to work on feedback that you have given us through the Staff Survey and our own surveys and focus groups.

One of the main improvements we’ve seen recently is the changes to the Insider and our all-user emails. Hopefully you will have seen these, but if you’re wondering, we’re using an external service to deliver all-staff emails to you.

We have had some queries about this, please be assured that this service is completely controlled and administered by the Internal Communications Team with technical support from IT services. It does mean that your Insider and all-staff emails come from an email address that doesn’t end with (but are still Headlined 'University of Leicester Communications').

There is a very good reason for doing this, because the new system, as well as making the emails look far better than they did, also allows us to see how many people are reading the emails and what stories are most popular, so that we can continue to improve our communications to you.

The improvements to Insider and all-staff emails are just part of our ongoing improvements which have also seen the introduction of the Yammer internal network in January 2016, Leicester in Focus Videos, ULT Live and Breakfast with the VC sessions.

We are also working hard with IT services and the web team to start to migrate staff content onto MyWorkspace, the new interactive and personalised staff intranet.
