How can we tackle gender-based violence on university campuses?

On Thursday 1 February 2018 we are holding our second HeForShe Global Ideathon where we will be asking ‘How can we tackle gender-based violence on university campuses?'

We are proud that our campus is a safe place, and for the vast majority, your university experience will be a safe, welcoming and fun but incidents do occur on campuses worldwide and, as a HeForShe IMPACT Champion, we are at the forefront of making change and tackling serious issues.

We're inviting staff and students to join us on the central campus square between 11am-1.30pm at our HeForShe marquee. You can pledge your commitment to HeForShe in our Photobooth and have a go at finishing our HeForShe jigsaw.

Our Global Ideathon will then take place in the Council Suite, Fielding Johnson Building from 4-6pm. Students will work in small groups with a facilitator to develop their ideas on tackling gender-based violence. After presenting all the ideas to the room, they’ll end with pizza and refreshments. Book your place here.

Students can also get involved in our Gender-based violence student debate, which is being held on 8 February as part of 'It's Not OK Week'. Staff are welcome to attend, but are asked to leave the debate to students.
