Green-fingered volunteers needed for student project which is hosting a plant sale on Thursday 9 June.

This Thursday 9 June, Hungry for Change homegrown tomato and chilli plants will be on sale in the Students' Union from 11:30 - 2:00pm, with prices starting from just 50p.

Launched in 2013, the Hungry for Change project aims to change the way students think about what they're eating and why, empowering students to make their own informed food choices.

In addition to this week's plant sale, the project is also looking for volunteers to join the group. Whether you have an interest and want to know more, or you have years of experience, the team would love to welcome you to their weekly plot sessions on Wednesday afternoons from 12:00 - 4:00pm.

If you would like a higher level of involvement, the team is also looking to recruit Garden Managers for next year. This involves helping to run the weekly plot sessions including maintaining the plot and working with the Hungry for Change committee and volunteers, providing a fantastic opportunity to learn a lot about gardening and general organisational skills.

In addition to the above, they are also looking for an experienced gardener to join the project and provide guidance to students on the plot on a Wednesday afternoon. For more information on this role, email Naomi, Student Development Manager on ngg4@le.ac.uk.

You can find out more about the plant sale and these volunteering opportunities on our Hungry for Change webpages or you can get in touch with the group on email via su-h4c@le.ac.uk
