Gender pay gap briefing this Thursday

Come along and find out more about the work we're doing to reduce our gender pay gap.

We know that one of the greatest challenges to gender equality is the gender pay gap. Despite the equal pay act nearly 50 years ago, women, on average, still earn less than men in the UK today.

At Leicester we, along with other universities and organisations, do have a significant gender pay gap, and have been working hard on many levels to address this. As a HeForShe Impact Champion we have set ourselves clear and achievable targets to change this, ranging from changes to the promotion process and providing clear routes into leadership positions for women, both in professional services and academia.

From this year we will be required to report annually on the Gender Pay Gap and we welcome this new transparency. We are using this as an opportunity to develop a more sophisticated understanding of our gender pay gap and take a more evidence based approach to closing it.

Kate Bradley, our Director of HR, will be holding an all-staff briefing session on Thursday 15 February at 2pm in the Belvoir Park Lounge and Annexe and would like to invite you to join me and hear more about the data, what we’re doing to change things and to ask any questions you might have about this very important subject.
