International collaboration in MOOC research to be discussed at FutuerLearn event.

The FutureLearn Academic Network (FLAN) is a group of academics and practitioners interested in studying Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from a range of perspectives. It meets 3-4 times per year, and is open to any staff with an interest in this area.

The next meeting of the FLAN is being hosted here at the University of Leicester, on Monday 24 October, College Court, with the general theme of 'International Collaboration in MOOC research' (although any topic relating to MOOCs is welcomed). Speakers from a range of institutions and perspectives will be present, including an international Skype panel session.

There is no cost to attend, and lunch and refreshments are provided courtesy of FutureLearn. It is an opportunity to catch up with research into FutureLearn and MOOCs, and to talk informally with colleagues from other FutureLearn partner organisations.

Please let Michelle Stannard (michelle.stannard@futurelearn.com) know as soon as possible if you would like to attend the meeting, so she can make arrangements for catering. The call for contributions is also still open, so let Michelle know if there is a MOOC-related topic you would like to present.

We hope that many colleagues from Leicester will be able to join this local meeting, and look forward to seeing you there.
