Food for Thought: Tier 4 Sponsorship, what is it and why should I care?

Our second Food for Thought lunchtime talk will focus on the vitally important area of sponsorship for international students.

The ability to recruit international students is critical to the success of any university and therefore compliance with our obligations as a sponsor of international students is of crucial importance.

Tier 4 sponsorship became huge news in 2012 when London Met University had theirs revoked, losing their status as a highly trusted institution and meaning they were unable to recruit new international students.

Laura Freeman from Registry will give a brief overview of our obligations, separate some of the facts from the fiction, and talk about some of the steps we are taking to ensure that everybody at the University has at least a basic understanding of our collective responsibilities.

Book your place at the talk, which takes place on Wednesday 27 April between 12.30 and 1.30pm in Ken Edwards First Floor Lecture 1, and then get involved in the post-event discussion on Yammer.

Food For Thought is a monthly lunchtime talk, open to all staff. The talks are an opportunity for you to come and hear about a range of topics from across the institution, broaden your own knowledge and meet colleagues from around the University.
