As part of the Midlands Graduate School the University of Leicester is seeking applications for prestigious ESRC Postdoctoral Fellows in its five DTP pathways starting in autumn 2018.

The fellowships are aimed at those in the immediately postdoctoral stage of their career, to provide the opportunity to consolidate their PhD through developing publications, their networks, and their research and professional skills.

The call is open to applicants who have completed their PhD at a research organisation that is part of a DTP or CDT and who are within 12 months of completing their PhD. At the submission deadline (23rd March 2018), the applicant must either have been awarded a PhD or have submitted their thesis and passed their viva voce with minor corrections, with the expectation that the PhD will be awarded by the fellowship start date (1st October 2018).

The deadline for completed applications (including the required attachments) is 4pm on 23 March 2018.

Sally Horrocks, MGS site director at Leicester said: "These Fellowships are an excellent opportunity for recent PhDs to take the next step in their academic careers and for Leicester to help develop the next generation of social scientists and contribute to their inspiring projects."

Further details of the scheme, including how to apply for postdoctoral study at Leicester, can be found here.

A briefing session is being held on Monday 29 January 2018, 2pm, Charles Wilson 401/402. This will provide an introduction to the scheme for potential applicants or mentors. There will be an opportunity for one-to-one discussions about applications following the briefing.

Please email Louise Taylor on lm40@le.ac.uk if you would like to attend either in person or remotely.
