Introducing our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

We are committed to leading by example on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.  Our Strategy is a public declaration of our commitment to develop a university community that is fully inclusive, recruiting and retaining staff and students from all sectors of society. We know how enthusiastic our staff and students are about EDI and your continued support is vital for us to fulfil our promise of a more equal, diverse and inclusive workplace.

While we oversee EDI through our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, team and network of Diversity Champions we appreciate everyone’s contribution in ensuring we create a University-wide culture of inclusion.

We have set our ambition by committing to initiatives and projects including the Athena SWAN Charter, the Race Equality Charter, the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, the Disability Confident Employer Scheme, and our partnership with the UN, as a HeForShe University Impact Champion.

Consultation is a vital part of our strategy, only by involving and listening to you can we be assured that real change happens. Our EDI committees, diversity champions, trade unions, staff forums and student networks, the Students’ Union, the staff survey all offer mechanisms by which your voice can be heard and enables you to support the delivery of our strategy.
