Following information about a potential phishing attack on our email system, please see advice on how to deal with any suspect emails.

We have been made aware of a phishing email which you may have received via either your work or home email address. The subject line of the email has multiple forms but is something like ‘RE [your name], Important notice about your package [a reference number]’ or ‘Your Pack(#4BL-39732) progress update - Shipment Confirmation’. Whatever form the subject line takes it is likely to include your name, relate to an order or delivery and contain details of your home address within the email.

Please delete this email immediately and do not click on the link stating “Your Order [reference number] available here”. The link in this email contains malicious code.

Our IT Services department has blocked access to the link in the email from the campus network. However, it will still be available if you are accessing it from a mobile network, The Cloud wireless (even on campus) or any other network such as your home broadband.

If you have clicked on the link from any device, including personal devices, you must contact the IT Service Desk as soon as possible by phone, extension 2253 so that they can advise.

We take all such emails seriously and are undertaking a thorough review of the possible source of this email. We can assure you that appropriate action will be taken as required.
