Funding available for Erasmus+ Staff Exchange opportunities in 2016/17 and beyond

We would like to draw your attention to the availability of funding for Erasmus+ Staff Exchange opportunities in 2016-17 and beyond.

The Erasmus+ Scheme offers grants to university staff to go abroad for between 2 and 60 days. There are three types of exchanges possible:

Teaching Exchange

This is open to members of academic staff. You must teach a minimum of 8 hours per week or part thereof. More information on where you can go can be found on our website.

Training Exchange

This is open to academic and non-academic staff alike. Training can be related to any area relevant to your role, and can include job-shadowing. For example, we have previously sent a colleague from Biological Sciences to Spain, to learn about the latest techniques related to biohazardous material storage. We have also sent a colleague from English for a staff training week in Spain, to learn best practice in dealing with international students. In turn, earlier this year the International Office hosted a visitor from the International Office of a university in Italy, and in early 2016, the Procurement Office will host a visitor from a Cypriot university, both for job shadowing.

Combined Teaching and Training Exchange

This is a new feature of Erasmus+; it combines the two options above and is open to academic staff who will be teaching abroad and also attending a training session or job shadowing.

Please note that Erasmus+ funding does not cover any attendance fees for training courses, nor can it be used for attending conferences.

The deadline for application to go abroad in Semester 2 of 2015-16 was extended to 31 May 2016.
