Christmas on Campus: Thursday 7 – Saturday 9 December

Join in with the festive fun that’s taking place across the campus and city this Christmas.

Twas the month before Christmas, when all through the campus,

Not a student was studying, not even the Krampus.

The stockings were hung by the library with care,

In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

(If you can find a better yuletide word that rhymes with campus, please contact communications@le.ac.uk)

As the days get colder, and the night draws longer, rest easy in the knowledge that soon Christmas will be coming to campus!

Make sure you're wearing your most festive jumper on Friday 8 December.

From Thursday 7 December, The Christmas Market and Ice Rink will take over Fielding Johnson Square ready for the big light switch-on which will take place at 5.00pm. The Christmas Carousel will also be situated on campus for the duration of the festivities. The market, ice rink and carousel will be open from 10.00am until 8.00pm between Thursday 7 and Saturday 9 December and there’ll be plenty of mince pies to dig in to!

With each day comes more seasonal surprises!
Between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Thursday 7 December, you’ll be able to meet Santa’s reindeer on campus and be sure to don your merriest garments on Friday 8 December which has been designated our annual Christmas Jumper Day.

Also on Friday 8 December, you can share your culinary Christmastide creations by taking part in our Great Christmas Bake Off (booking required). There will also be a free pantomime performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears which taking place at 5.30pm in the Charles Wilson Building Sports Hall on Friday too.

The Winter Wonderland Snow Globe will return to the Library Square on Saturday between 11.00am and 3.00pm on Saturday 9 December. Father Christmas himself as well as Elsa and Olaf will be paying visits to campus on the Saturday also.
