On Tuesday 1 December get into the seasonal spirit as a Christmas market and ice rink mark the start of the festive season.

Between 10am and 8pm the car park by the Fielding Johnson Building will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with hot food, winter warmers, arts and crafts and the very finest top quality products from Leicester's retail scene.

And right at the centre will be an ice rink, so swap studying for skating for half an hour for just £5. The atmosphere will be extra special once it gets dark so make sure you stick around. Think mulled wine, mince pies, fairy lights and much more.

This Christmas extravaganza has been put on jointly by the University, Leicester Students’ Union and the Enactus student enterprise society.

Join us throughout the day for what can only be described as a cracking way to get Christmas in Leicester off with a bang.

This is the first event in the Students’ Unions 12 days of Christmas which runs right up until the end of term. There’s a Guide dog calendar launch, Christmas films, festive craft fair, and of course carol singing.

Find out more at the Students’ Union website.
