Campus Development: Consultation Update

Posted by rmt22 at Aug 03, 2017 04:11 PM |
In July, we let you know that we were holding two consultations in advance of submitting planning applications.

We set out our plans to revitalise our Brookfield campus ahead of the move of our Business School and our plans to extend and improve the Percy Gee building, home of our Students’ Union.

These consultations were legally required before putting in a formal planning request and we wanted to ensure that staff, students and the general public had a chance to feed their ideas into that process.

The consultations concluded on 28 July 2017. We hosted two open drop-in consultation events on each project – one focused on students and staff, and another focused on the general public, at both Brookfield and Percy Gee.  We are grateful to students, staff and members of the local community for contributing their views.

We are currently in the process of reflecting on all of the feedback that we received during the consultation. The feedback will inform our plans, where possible, as Brookfield and Percy Gee, and other forthcoming campus projects, are developed further.

We will be submitting a planning application for both of these projects to the Local Planning Authority in the coming weeks.

Next steps

As the campus development project is ongoing, there will be more opportunities to comment on proposals going forward.

We look forward to further constructive dialogue with staff, students and members of the public throughout the development process.
