A one day conference marking a year until Brexit, and a year of Donald Trump

The conference is aimed at stimulating critical public debate on the political, social, and media issues associated with Brexit and Donald Trump. We will gather expert, authoritative opinions and evidence about what these events might mean for the media in future, especially the growing role being played by social media in public life.

Speakers and participants include a wide range of well-known journalists and academics from the UK and beyond including:

  • Helen Boaden, former Head of BBC News;

  • Raymond Snoddy, former Media Editor of The Times and the Financial Times;

  • Professor Richard Tait (Cardiff University), former Editor-in-Chief of ITN; and

  • Professor Philip John Davies, formerly of the British Library and De Montfort University

The conference will take place on Wednesday 21 February from 10am to 4:30pm in the Henry Wellcome Building. Please register your attendance here.
