Applications are now open for the final cohort of the Aurora Leadership Programme.

‘Aurora’ is an established and successful women-only leadership development programme which was launched by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education in 2013. The programme aims to enable a wide range of women in academic and professional roles to think of themselves as future leaders and to begin the process of developing leadership skills and strategies. Participants will benefit from workshops, an action learning set and mentoring.

‘Aurora’ is open to women up to Reader/Associate Professor level and equivalent in professional services functions (grades 7-9). Aurora is an introductory leadership programme, so it will be of most interest to early-career women who would like to develop and explore issues relating to future leadership roles and responsibilities.

Aurora addresses the following core areas associated with leadership success:

  • Understanding organisations and the sector;
  • Developing leadership behaviours, skills and knowledge;
  • Identifying and overcoming barriers and obstacles;
  • Growing confidence and a leadership identity;
  • Building networks, coalitions and support processes.
