We are holding our annual Employability Summit for Heads of Department, careers tutors and anyone else with a keen interest in improving student employability on Tuesday 15 December from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Our University has enjoyed high profile recognition this year for the approach we are taking in preparing our students for the world of work and further study.

Most notably we have been recognised as the UK’s leading institution for our employability strategy by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), and, for the first time in our history, we are now a top 25 targeted institution by Times Top 100 graduate employers.

Other institutions, however, are investing heavily in this area meaning our students face an increasingly difficult task to stand out in a very competitive labour market. Furthermore, the imminent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and ongoing importance of the National Student Survey (NSS) are now placing a greater focus on how students perceive their university experience is equipping them for life after graduation.

This event will highlight the relevant pedagogy that sits behind the University’s Career Development Journey and offer delegates the opportunity to interactively explore how this might be applied to enhance appropriate aspects of the taught curriculum and other areas of the student experience.

Come along to explore and discuss ideas that can enhance student employability and experience throughout the areas you are responsible for.

The event will take place in the Peter Williams Lecture Theatre. To confirm your place please book here.
