A new way for students to report and get support

Find out more about Report and Support, our new online reporting system, aimed at making things easier for both students and staff.

We want all of our students to experience an environment that is stimulating, enjoyable and safe. However during their time with us, they may witness or experience something that concerns or distresses them and want us to know about it.

Following a huge amount of work to consolidate and streamline the University’s reporting systems, a brand new online reporting system, Report and Support, has just been launched. Reports can be logged anonymously, or with contact  details so the student receives follow up support.

This formal reporting system allows any incidents to be tracked and followed up through the right channels and ensures that students feel supported and cared for, however it does not start formal disciplinary processes.

It’s important to note that this does not replace the existing concerned@le.ac.uk email address which can be used to express or raise a concern for a student. This is more appropriate than the online reporting system if, for example, you haven’t heard from a student in a while or a student has suddenly changed their habits and are exhibiting negative behaviours. If you don’t know whether to use the reporting system or the concerned email, you don’t have to worry as both are dealt with within Student Support Services and both can lead to receiving support for all involved.

Once a report has been received, either online or via email, you will receive a reply from a member of Student Support Services staff. When appropriate, this information will be fed into the University Cause for Concern Group who can collectively assess risks, co-ordinate support plans and monitor actions.

If you would like any further information about the online reporting system or other reporting and support structures, please email welfare@le.ac.uk or visit the Need Help webpages.
