Details of Staff and PGR/ECR face-to-face research data management-related training courses offered across the University are available:
- The Doctoral College offers a range of development opportunities for research and academic staff and there is also separate provision for postgraduate research students which can be found via MyPGR.
- Staff workshops, courses and guided learning sessions.
- IT Services training on research computing topics
In addition to these scheduled courses, you can also request RDM training from the University Library Research Services team, specifically for your own College or team. We can provide training on a variety of RDM topics including:
- funders’ and publisher obligations and requirements
- data management and sharing plans
- research data and ethics
- data repositories and archives
- data citation and metrics.

MANTRA (Research Data Management Training)
MANTRA is a free online course for researchers and others who manage digital data as part of a research project. Produced by the University of Edinburgh, Research Data MANTRA consists of eight learning units, plus four data handling tutorials using common software packages.

UK Data Service webinars and workshops
Coursera Research Data Management and Sharing MOOC
This free course (Coursera Research Data Management and Sharing MOOC) is offered by the University of Edinburgh and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It provides an introduction to research data management and sharing. Topics covered include data management plans, data handling and organisation, documentation, storage and security of data, archiving, sharing and preservation of research data.
Digital Curation Centre courses
DCC in addition to guidance materials online, provides a list of 'in-career' training courses as well as more complex, HE-accredited programmes leading towards data librarianship.
Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) training resources
A collection (Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) training resources) of different types of training resources and materials, including webinars, videos, training guides, case studies, and a ‘Train-the-Trainers (TTT)’ package which is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
