What can I use Reflect for?

Recording teaching

Reflect can be used for recording a wide variety of teaching. It is available in all centrally timetabled and Reflect-equipped rooms, which means you can record your lectures and make them available to students. They can then either watch the whole lecture again, or navigate to key points to recap. This can be extremely beneficial to all students when revising for exams, or for those who have trouble keeping up with lectures and taking notes, or for whom English isn’t their first language.

Once you have made your recording available to students, you can view reports to see which students watched which video and for how long. This information allows you to identify specific areas where students spend more time reviewing, so can help you adjust your teaching accordingly, to address areas or concepts students are struggling with.

There are many other ways to use Reflect in your teaching, either in teaching rooms, on mobile devices or at your desk.

Recording other events

You can also use Reflect to make other recordings, such as:

  • Staff training sessions
  • Visiting speakers
  • Talks for prospective students
