What is Reflect?

Online tutorial Introduction to Reflect (online tutorial)

Reflect is the University’s lecture capture system. It allows you to record a teaching session, and make the recording available for students to view online, usually through Blackboard. By default, the recording includes what is shown on your computer screen, and your voice. Additionally you can choose to record video from the camera or webcam and record what is shown on a visualiser (document camera), if you use that in your teaching.

Before making the recordings available to students, you are able to edit the video. This allows you to take out any parts of the recording you don’t want to be published. It also allows you to edit the titles of sections of your presentation to enable students to more easily scan the recording to find the parts they want to recap.

As well as recording traditional lectures, Reflect can be used in a variety of ways to support learning, such as in practical settings by using Reflect on a tablet device, ‘flipping’ the classroom, and support for distance learning students. Discover more about how Reflect can be used to enhance learning and teaching.
