Move a recording to a different module

Sometimes you may need to move a recording to a different Blackboard module, for example if you accidentally chose the wrong folder when recording. To move a recording to a different Blackboard course, you first need to change the folder in Panopto. This ensures that the students on the Blackboard course will have access to see the recording. If you simply move the link in Blackboard, then the students on the new Blackboard course will not have permission to watch the recording.

  1. Login to Blackboard and open the course site that currently contains the recording. Click Panopto video in the menu on the left. (Alternatively you can login to https://leicester.cloud.panopto.eu to find your recording.)
  2. Find the recording that you want to move
  3. Move your mouse over the recording and click Settings in the options that appear

  4. Click the Edit link next to the current folder

  5. Choose the folder for the Blackboard course that you want to move the recording to
  6. Click Save. You can now close the Settings window.
  7. The recording should now appear in the Panopto Video list in the new Blackboard course.

Move several recordings at once

If you need to move several recordings to a different folder, for example to move recordings out of an archive folder and back into the main folder, you can do this as follows:

  1. Open your Blackboard course and click the Panopto Video link.  If you are moving recordings out of an archive folder, then click on the archive folder at the top of the list of recordings to open it.
  2. Click the Open in Panopto link on the right of the screen.

  3. You will now see the same list of recordings in Panopto. Click in the checkboxes on the left to select the recordings you want to move.

  4. Click the Move button at the top of the screen.

  5. Choose the folder to move the recordings to, then click the green Move button at the top of the screen.
