Manual Recordings

Tutor-led sessions such as lectures will be recorded automatically if you are teaching in a Reflect-equipped room.

However if you want to choose different recording options from the default, for example to add video from the camera or the visualiser, you will need to start a manual recording.  You also need to do a manual recording for events other than scheduled lectures, if you are making a recording at your own desk or if you are using your own computer or mobile device.

If you start a manual recording, this will stop any automatic recording currently running on that computer.

Manual recordings on:

Although there is an Android app, you cannot use it to make recordings.

Unfortunately it is not possible to record on a Linux computer.

Don't forget...

If you have used the lectern PC you should log off at the end of your session, but not shut down. The computer needs to be switched on (but doesn’t have to be logged in) for Reflect to automatically record a session.

It is important that you do not tamper with the video cameras in teaching rooms, and you must leave them as you find them. The Rooms Directory shows the area of the room captured by the camera, and moving them would mean this information might not be accurate for the next person using the room.

Please also ensure that projectors have been powered down to standby before you leave.
