Follow the advice in the course description page and check whether you need to provide a research proposal or a personal statement.  Some research subjects require you to use their dedicated Research  Proposal Template for your research proposal. Please check the requirements on the relevant subject page under the 'How to Apply'  section before starting your proposal.

There some generic guidance for proposals at  research proposal guidance.

  • international applicants must provide official copies of their entire course transcripts including explanations of the mark schemes used and, where possible, an indication of their class ranking/position in class
  • supporting documents that are not in English must be provided with a certified English translation
Step 4

Step 5

The application form allows you add the contact details of your Academic Referees  - once you submit your application your referees will automatically receive a reference request from us by email.  Alternatively if you already have letters of reference you can upload these to the reference section of the online application.

Applicants must provide two academic (not personal) references from people who can comment on your suitability for the research degree programme; please follow the advice in the application form on how to submit your references.
