FUNDING:

For UK/EU applicants we offer a 3.5 year fee waiver and stipend at RCUK rates.

For International students we offer a 3.5 year full international fee waiver only. International applicants must able to demonstrate that they can fund their own living costs for the duration of their studies.

The PhD is open to UK and EU applicants only.

The studentship is available for full-time registration and will cover all UK/EU tuition fees for three academic years together with a 75% FTE Salary at Grade 6 - the exact salary will depend on experience and qualifications. (Grade 6 FT base rate is currently £27,830)

The successful applicant will receive an RTSG (Researcher Training Support Grant) to cover the costs of travel, conferences and running costs.

The UK Government has introduced new Postgraduate Doctoral Loans of up to £25,000 for PhDs and equivalent postgraduate research programmes from 2018.

Please make sure you read the full eligibility and residency criteria.

If you apply for a Doctoral Loan you will be able to register for your course once you have provided us with evidence that your application has been approved. Students in receipt of the Doctoral Loan are able to pay in 3 instalments instead of the standard 2, the due dates of the instalments will be in line with the dates you receive your loan payments.
