Tuberculosis is an ancient disease which never went away. It affects ALL countries in the world and kills 4,000 people every day.

The World Health Organisation has developed a strategy to end TB by 2030. Implementation of this strategy will require combined global efforts from clinicians, scientists and policy makers.

Leicester Tuberculosis Research group (LTBRG) includes scientists working on different aspects of tuberculosis from fundamental biological mechanisms that make tuberculosis bugs very successful pathogens to clinical management and prevention of tuberculosis.

In this meeting, we will focus on LTBRG scientific research and discuss our recent advances in understanding biology, adaptation and transmission of tuberculosis bacilli and how the next generation scientists contribute to tuberculosis research.
