Research Objectives

The main objectives of SCIENCE-MINQ are to:

  1. Co-design a rapid inquiry framework for science centres in collaboration with science centre educators and science teachers, based on existing frameworks for inquiry-based science learning.
  2. Elicit a set of requirements for interaction components suitable for rapid inquiries.
  3. Co-design interaction components that integrate multimodal interactions with exhibits.
  4. Design and develop the Inquirer app, which guides young science centre visitors to construct their own rapid inquiries and carry them out during their visit.
  5. Evaluate the Inquirer app’s impacts on young people’s learning from science centre visits.
  6. Develop a set of technical requirements and pedagogical guidelines that will enable science centres and other informal science settings to adopt rapid inquiry as a pedagogical approach and implement it on the Inquirer app.
