Dr Fransiska Louwagie

Lecturer in French Studies: School of Modern Languages

Contact Details

I joined the School of Modern Languages in September 2011. I previously held postdoctoral research fellowships at Lessius University College and at the Catholic University of Leuven, where I also completed a predoctoral research fellowship granted by the FWO (Research Foundation Flanders). My main research focus is on French post-Holocaust literature. I’m particularly interested in survivor narratives and in the representation of the Holocaust in contemporary Francophone fiction. As this research addresses the experience of displaced witnesses, my work also focuses on issues of exile/Jewish diaspora, identity and bilingualism.
