Leicester Inter-Disciplinary Workshop on Elections, Public Opinion, Participation and Parties (LIWEPOP)

Aims and Organisation

The study of elections, public opinion and parties cuts across several disciplines in the social sciences. At the University of Leicester there are scholars working on this area in several departments. There is, thus, scope to start building bridges across departments to create greater capacity in this area of research.

In January 2013, LIWEPOP was formed with the aim of fostering intellectual and academic exchanges across various disciplines. We organise a quarterly interdisciplinary workshop around the broad areas of political participation, elections, parties and public opinion where between two and three people present a paper of work in progress.

We would like to invite all academics and post-graduate students at the University of Leicester working on these topics to join us at LIWEPOP and to be part of this exciting initiative. If you are interested in this initiative, you can subscribe to the e-list to receive all the information about LIWEPOP.
