Supportive Services

SFWC is developing two additional supportive services to ensure all families affected by inherited cancer are fully supported:

  • Counselling
  • Buddying

More information about coping with finding out you are at risk of an inherited cancer can be found in our booklet (PDF).  To find out more about the counselling services available to you contact the SFWC team.

The buddying service aims to connect people who are yet to have preventative surgery with those who have already experienced it. If you are interested in being trained as a voluntary buddy or wish to find out more please email the SFWC team.

There are also many local and national support groups for patients and families with cancer, details of which you can find on our Useful Contacts page.
