Supporting Families with Cancer

Are you concerned about your family history of cancer?

If so we have information to support you!

The Supporting Families with Cancer project is improving access to inherited cancer services for all.

It is essential for cancer patients and their families to have access to up to date information on:

  • maintaining a healthy lifestyle,
  • cancer research and
  • links to supportive organisations and useful services.

Supporting Families with Cancer Flyer pictureThis has become the mission of the Supporting Families with Cancer project.

Supporting Families with Cancer (SFWC) has been developed by a team of clinicians and researchers from University Hospitals of Leicester (Clinical Genetics, Physiotherapy and Medical Psychology), the University of Leicester (GENIE and the Department of Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine) and Macmillan.

You can find lots of information on this website through the links below and at our Lifestyle and Cancer Awareness Events.

We are currently working with University Hospitals of Leicester to look for future funding for this work and to focus our activities and resources on the things that are most important to you. For this reason we have not scheduled a date for the next Lifestyle and Cancer Awareness Event but you can still contact us for more information or register your interest via our online form.

You can also read about the latest project news on our Health Education Reaching Out page.
