Over the last five years we have run a number of GENIE Summer Schools in collaboration with the University’s Widening Participation Team. These Summer Schools take the form of a residential master class lasting up to a week, and are aimed for 15-16 year olds. They allow a more detailed taste of working in genetics and also include a range of social activities and provide experience of life as a university student. Our Summer Schools usually take place during July or August and places may be available for up to 50 students.
In addition to this, GENIE has been running a great number of Genetics workshops at other University Summer Schools, including

  • Higher Education Experience Summer School
  • Aim Higher Summer School
  • Tri Uni Summer School
  • Senior Space School UK
  • Physics Summer School
  • I-Sciences Summer School

If you would like more information about our Summer Schools or would like us to run a workshop at your Summer School please contact  Dr Cas Kramer.
