- A second state of the art GENIE postgraduate teaching laboratory in the Adrian building (Adrian207) was completed in July 2006. Using the latest audio, video and computer facilities GENIE aims to promote and sustain a synergy between first class research and teaching.

- Two further interconnected teaching laboratories on the second floor of the Maurice Shock Medical Science Building have been refurbished to high laboratory and audiovisual standards for either 'wet laboratory work' or e-learning activities, creating yet another GENIE teaching unit, the GENIE Outreach Centre (MSB223/225). This flexible teaching facility (total capacity of 80 people) is particularly useful for combined laboratory/group teaching and CETL outreach activities, like taster courses and summer schools.
