Session 2: Research Projects and Regional Users - Midi Pyrénées/Aquitaine Regions, France

Based in the Midi Pyrénées/Aquitaine Regions, France, the Aerospace Valley (AV) cluster is a non-profit organization based on the 'triple helix' concept gathering actors from industry, research and local political and institutional authorities. Aerospace Valley is an innovation and research think tank structured in an industry/research/training triangle. Through their significant annual financial support the two regional councils of Midi-Pyrénées and Aquitaine are fully committed to the activities of Aerospace Valley and provide significant annual financial support to AV.

Today, the main competences and significant strength of Aerospace Valley is in the field of civil aviation. Aerospace Valley also hosts many high-level aerospace R&D centres. The cluster is actively involved in international collaboration programs, including cooperation in both commercial and R&D related activities in many countries across the world, but especially in Germany, the UK, Canada, USA, Brazil and China.

Philippe Lattes

Aerospace Valley Cluster

Philippe Lattes is currently innovation manager for space activities in the Aerospace Valley cluster. He joined AV after 20 years spent in space industry (EADS ASTRIUM) as a technical and operational manager in the integration and validation aspects for all kinds of satellites (earth observation, telecommunication, scientific and navigation).

Jacques Bouffier

CETE S0

Jacques Bouffier is a Civil Engineer and Project manager in the Satellite Application task-force of the French Ministry of Transportation and Ecology (Delegation of Toulouse of the CETE SO) since 2010. He has worked on traffic issues in the French Ministry of Transportation, and on Earth Observation and Navigation studies in the French Space Agency.
