Session 2: Research Projects and Regional Users in THE ISSUE Consortium Partnership (Mazovia Region, Poland)

The Mazovia region hosts a cluster of research institutes and industry partners who work closely with the local authority on regional development of innovative solutions in environmental management and information technology. The cluster is composed of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Mazovia Region Marshall Office, and Intergraph Poland.

The Institute of Geodesy and Cartography is developing innovative solutions for the application of remote sensing, earth observation, GPS systems and information technology (especially GIS) to different fields of science and the economy. The Institute plays an important role in the development of research methodologies for the analysis and monitoring of the environment using satellite images.

The Mazovia Region Marshall Office carries out statutory tasks in the areas of public education, health, culture, environmental protection, social assistance, local economy and transport. The Office is responsible for the development and implementation of regional transport plans to regulate service delivery and transport enhancements.

Intergraph Polska is a leading private sector company that is a global provider of engineering and geospatial software that enables customers to visualize complex data. It provides geospatially powered solutions for public safety and security, defence and intelligence, government, transportation, photogrammetry, utilities and communications industries.
