Here at the University of Leicester we are working with seven project partners and a team of 23 editors to edit all of Evelyn Waugh's works for the first time. This includes novels, essays, biographies, and all of Waugh's personal writings and art work. Only 15% of Waugh's letters have been published before and Michael Davie's 1976 edition of the Diaries was heavily censored. Alexander Waugh, Evelyn's grandson and the General Editor, will publish twelve volumes of Personal Writings in this new print edition, interleaving all the letters with the unexpurgated diaries.

The works will be published in 43 volumes, including a new bibliography and full index, by the Oxford University Press. Publishing will begin with some of Waugh's best-loved works in 2017, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the author's death, and is due for completion in 2020.
