Project proposals, assessment and management

Targets are identified, validated and proposed by participating CRUK Centres. Potential CNAA projects are assessed and selected from proposed targets by the Steering Board, with criteria including:

  • potential impact of requested CNAA resource on successful progression of the drug development project
  • feasibility and resource requirement of proposed project
  • maintenance of a balanced portfolio of projects matched to the CNAA resources and expertise available
  • retention of a balance between challenging and relatively straightforward projects

Progress of selected projects is constantly monitored by the participating CNAA partners and proposing Centre, with achievement of project milestones assessed by the Steering Board. The Steering Board is promptly informed of any major problems with on-going projects, as well as significant advances and forthcoming outcomes.
