Biometric Residence Permit

As from March 2015 the UKVI have introduced the BRP card for Tier 4 applications made overseas

What has changed?

Instead of being issued with a full visa you will be issued with a 30-day travel permit, which will allow you to enter the UK to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) before you begin your studies. You'll need to collect your BRP within 10 days of arriving in the UK. You can read about the BRP here: https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST TRAVEL TO THE UK WITHIN THESE 30 DAYS OR YOUR VISA WILL EXPIRE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A NEW APPLICATION FOR ENTRY CLEARANCE

What do I need to do?

When you apply for your Tier 4 student visa you will be asked to specify a collection point for your BRP. We are able to offer BRP collection on our campus for you and any Tier 4 dependents on your visa. This will be quicker and easier that collecting your documents from a Post Office.

To ensure your BRP is delivered to us for collection, please enter the code: 2HE539 in the 'Alternative Location' field in the BRP Collection Page on Visa4UK website.

Your delivery address of your BRP will be: University of Leicester Registry, University Road, Leicester, LE1 7RH.

The BRP you collect from us will contain details of the terms of your study visa and will be valid for the full length of your degree course at the University of Leicester.

Collecting your BRP from the University

You must collect your BRP documents within 10 days of arriving in the UK. If you fail to do this you may be subject to a financial penalty, reduction or cancellation of your leave.
