Visa processing - Frequently asked questions

I haven’t received my biometric letter.  Have you forgotten me?

No.  We will email you automatically as soon as the letter arrives. However, if we have not emailed you after approximately 3-4 weeks since you submitted the application please contact Student Welfare Service

I gave my biometrics a few weeks ago however I have not received my visa yet.  Can my adviser contact UKVI?

Calling UKVI is only to ask about progress and does not mean you will get your visa more quickly.  However if your application appears to be taking longer than would be expected your Adviser may decide to conatct them on your behalf.

Can I  get my visa more quickly if I pay some extra money?

Yes, there are three types of service you can request.

1. Standard postal

2. Priority postal

3. Premium, in person service

They are all charged at different charges, please see the UKVI website

A family member is suddenly very ill or a relative has passed away and I need to return home urgently.  Can my adviser get my passport back?

Maybe.  You need to explain the situation to your adviser and provide medical evidence in English so that we can contact UKVI.

Can I contact UKVI myself?

We recommend that if you have submitted your application through the Student Welfare Service you should discuss this with an Adviser will then assist you.

However if you have submitted the application by yourself or by any other means you may contact them directly
